Intro: The Power of Persistence
You ever notice how easy it is to start something… and how hard it is to finish it?
- Anybody can start soemthing, but it takes persistence to keep showing up.
- We quit fast these days.
- We quit diets, quit jobs, quit relationships, quit routines.

But can I tell you something? You can’t win a battle with a quitting spirit.

Story Hook – “The Gym Moment”
If I’m honest — I start and stop a lot.
- New ideas, new goals, new routines… I’ll hit it hard for a few weeks, and then life hits back.
- A while ago, I decided I was going to get in shape. I’m a little behind right now.
- Week one? I was all in — new shoes, gym membership, playlist ready.
- But by week two, everything hurt, and nothing looked different.
- I thought, “This isn’t worth it.”
- So I did what most people do — I slowed down, skipped a few days… almost quit.
- People who are in the know with this stuff will tell you that you don’t confuse progress with the process.
- You focus on the process and you will get the progress.
- In other words, the results show up after your persistence.
- This is a truth you can take much further than the gym …. It’s true in the classroom. It’s true in business. It’s true in life. and it’s true in life with God.
- You’ve got to keep showing up. Even when it’s diffucilty… but we want
- We want transformation without tension.
- Victory without resistance.
- But sometimes the difference between defeat and destiny is just… you didn’t stop.

Persistence doesn’t always look exciting — but it always produces results. In other words: It’s not the flashy stuff that builds faith; it’s the follow-through.

We see that same truth all through Scripture and I think no where is this communicated better than in the first chapter of James.
James 1:2-4
