INTRODUCTION
Last week, we began a new series called Stories Jesus Told.
- We said Jesus didn’t tell parables simply to make truth easier to understand.
- He told stories that revealed what life looks like when God is King and when our lives are submitted to Him.
- Last week, Jesus asked, “How are you hearing?”
- This week He asks something even more uncomfortable.
- “How are you loving?”
Because if we’re honest… most of us think we’re pretty loving people.
- We love our families.
- We love our friends.
- We love our church.
- We love people who are easy to love.
But then life introduces someone who makes love… complicated.
- Someone who hurt us.
- Someone we disagree with.
- Someone who is difficult
- Someone we honestly hope someone else will help.
And that’s where we begin asking questions.
- “Do I really have to?”
- “Surely someone else will step in.”
